It’s always easier to list the don’ts than the dos! Our dumpsters can handle a lot, but avoid loading any appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, or dryers into the container. Our dumpsters can handle a lot—weighing in around 2 to 3 tons of fabricated steel just by themselves. Not much can hold them down, but some materials do require extra care. Concrete, in pieces or crushed, can quickly cause a dumpster to become too heavy for our trucks to lift. Because of this, we advise using a 20 YD or smaller container and filling it only halfway with concrete. Dirt is a similar troublemaker and shouldn’t fill more than one-third to one-half of the container.
